Outting is an internet slang term that refers to the act of unintentionally revealing someone’s real identity or personal information online, without their consent or knowledge. It usually occurs when someone discloses private details such as their full name, address, phone number, or any other sensitive information without intending to do so.

Examples:

1. Maria was chatting with her friends on a social media platform, and while discussing a funny incident, she accidentally outed her friend Sarah by mentioning her full name and the city she lived in. Sarah then had to ask Maria to delete the comment quickly to protect her privacy.

2. John was participating in an online gaming session when he unknowingly outted himself by accidentally displaying his real phone number on the screen during a livestream. His viewers quickly alerted him to the privacy breach, and he swiftly took down the video and changed his number to prevent any potential issues.
