Caking is slang for flirting excessively or being overly affectionate, usually in a public or social setting.

In a more in-depth explanation, caking refers to the act of sweet-talking or displaying excessive affection towards someone, often in a way that might be considered excessive or overly sentimental. It is commonly used when someone is observed to be overly lovey-dovey or smothering in their interactions with another person.

Example 1:
Person A: “Did you see John at the party last night? He was caking it up with Sarah the entire time.”
Person B: “Yeah, he was definitely laying it on thick. It was a bit uncomfortable to watch.”

Example 2:
Person A: “I heard Mark has been caking with Mary lately.”
Person B: “Really? I knew he had a crush on her, but I didn’t expect him to be so over-the-top. It’s like he’s trying too hard.”
