Arraign is a legal term that refers to the formal reading of charges against a person in a court of law. It typically occurs after the person has been arrested and is brought before a judge or magistrate. During the arraignment, the charges are officially presented and the defendant is asked to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.

Example 1: The suspect was arraigned for robbery and assault yesterday. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Example 2: After being arrested for driving under the influence, Sarah was arraigned in court this morning. She decided to plead guilty and accept the consequences.
