An “armchair general” is a slang term used to describe someone who gives advice or expresses opinions about military strategy or tactics, particularly in an authoritative or confident manner, without having any practical experience or expertise in the field. This term is typically used to mock individuals who act as if they have extensive knowledge about military operations purely based on their armchair position, implying that they lack the real-world experience necessary to support their claims.

Example 1: David loves to play war strategy video games and always claims he could easily outmaneuver professional generals. He’s just an armchair general who has never stepped foot on a real battlefield.

Example 2: Sarah has never served in the military, but she constantly lectures her friends about the mistakes made during a recent military campaign. She’s just another armchair general sharing her uninformed opinions.
