Achilles’ heel refers to a person’s vulnerable or weakest point, just like the weak spot of the Greek warrior Achilles in Greek mythology. It is used to describe a particular area or aspect where a person is most susceptible to failure or harm. For example:
1. Despite his extraordinary talent, public speaking is his Achilles’ heel. He becomes extremely nervous and stumbles over his words whenever he has to address a large audience.
2. Her lack of confidence is her Achilles’ heel when it comes to job interviews. No matter how qualified she is, she often fails to present herself effectively and ends up losing opportunities.
