Yandere is an internet slang term used to describe a character, usually in anime or manga, who appears very sweet and gentle but becomes extremely possessive and obsessive over their love interest. They may go to extreme measures to ensure their love interests safety, even resorting to violence or manipulation.

Examples:
1. Laura’s favorite character in the anime series is a yandere who becomes irrationally jealous whenever someone shows interest in her love interest. She would go to great lengths to eliminate any potential threats or rivals, which adds suspense and intrigue to the storyline.
2. In their online forum discussion, participants were debating whether a certain character should be labeled as a yandere or not. Some argued that the character’s intense emotions and willingness to do anything for love fulfilled the criteria, while others believed that the character’s actions were justified given the circumstances.
