Welp

The internet slang term “Welp” is often used as a colloquial way of expressing resignation or acceptance. It is a combination of the words “well” and “yup,” typically used when something unfortunate or unexpected happens, or when admitting defeat or realizing an unfavorable outcome.

Examples:
1. After working for weeks on a school project, I accidentally spilled coffee on my laptop the night before the presentation. Welp, now I’ll have to start all over again.
2. A person posts a selfie on social media, excitedly asking for opinions. However, their comment section is flooded with negative remarks. Welp, time to turn off the notifications and move on.
