Turtling is an internet slang term used to describe someone who is intentionally hiding or withdrawing from a situation or conversation. It refers to the behavior of a person metaphorically retreating into their metaphorical “shell,” similar to how a real turtle withdraws into its shell for protection.

Examples:

1. John was participating in an online gaming session with his friends. When the opposing team started to gain the upper hand, John decided to turtle. He hid in a corner of the game map, avoiding any encounters with the opposing players.

2. Sarah was in a heated argument on a social media platform. When she realized that her arguments were not making an impact, she chose to turtle. She stopped responding to the comments and deleted her posts, essentially withdrawing from the discussion.
