The internet slang term “they/she” is used to describe someone’s preferred pronouns. It is commonly used by individuals who identify as non-binary, genderqueer, or genderfluid. When someone uses “they/she” as their pronouns, it means they prefer to be referred to using either gender-neutral pronouns (they/them) or feminine pronouns (she/her).

Examples:

1. My friend Alex identifies as non-binary and prefers the pronouns “they/she.” Please make sure to use the correct pronouns when referring to them.

2. Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce my new online friend, Sam. Sam goes by “they/she” pronouns, so let’s all be respectful and use the right pronouns when we talk to/about them. Thanks!
