Terracotta Pie is an internet slang term used to describe the feeling of disappointment or letdown when something does not live up to expectations. It refers to the concept of expecting to bite into a delicious pie, but instead finding it to be made of terracotta clay, which is not edible and could potentially break your teeth.

Examples:

1. Friend 1: I heard a lot of great reviews about that new restaurant, let’s go check it out!
Friend 2: Yeah, I’m excited! I hope the food lives up to the hype.
Friend 1: Me too! I’d hate for it to be a total Terracotta Pie.

2. User 1: Just watched that highly anticipated movie, and what a Terracotta Pie it was!
User 2: Really? I thought it was supposed to be amazing.
User 1: Yeah, the trailer built up so much excitement, but the actual film fell flat and left me disappointed.

In summary, Terracotta Pie is a term used to express the disappointment of something not meeting expectations, much like discovering a pie made of inedible terracotta clay rather than the expected delicious treat.
