Tankie

A tankie is an internet slang term used to describe someone who strongly supports or defends authoritarian communist regimes, particularly those that have used military force to suppress opposition. They tend to hold extreme left-wing views and defend oppressive regimes even in the face of criticism.

Examples:

John is such a tankie. He always defends Soviet Union’s actions and denies any of their atrocities committed during the Cold War.
Emma refuses to acknowledge the human rights abuses in North Korea. She’s a well-known tankie on social media.
