Sticker Shock

Sticker Shock is an internet slang term used to describe the feeling of surprise or astonishment when seeing the high price of a product or service. It refers to the initial shock one experiences upon discovering an unexpectedly expensive price tag.

Examples:
1. I went to buy a new smartphone today, but when the salesman told me the price, I experienced serious sticker shock. It was way more expensive than I was prepared for!
2. My friend and I went to a fancy restaurant and decided to order a bottle of wine. When we received the bill, the amount for the wine gave us both sticker shock. We hadn’t realized it would be so expensive!
