Spinning your wheels means to waste time and effort on something that is not productive or getting any results. It is like engaging in a repetitive and meaningless activity that leads to no meaningful outcome or progress.

Examples:
John has been spinning his wheels for hours trying to fix his computer, but he still can’t figure out the problem.
– Sarah has been spinning her wheels at work, attending numerous meetings all day without actually getting any work done.
