A “snitch” is a term used in internet slang to refer to someone who betrays or informs on others, typically to authority figures or those in power. This person willingly shares confidential or incriminating information about others’ actions or plans, often in an attempt to gain favor or avoid getting into trouble themselves.

Examples:

1. Lisa’s friends were planning a surprise party for her, but her younger brother snitched on them to their parents. Now, the surprise is ruined.

2. In an online gaming community, players who cheat or break the rules are often identified by other users and exposed as snitches. The community often frowns upon snitching since it disrupts fair play and camaraderie.
