Serious Shade is a slang term used to describe when someone openly criticizes or insults another person in a harsh and direct manner, often with sarcasm or contempt. It is a way of throwing major disrespect or disapproval towards someone.

Example 1:

Jessica: Did you see how Amanda called out Lisa on social media?
Kevin: Yeah, Amanda’s comment was serious shade. She didn’t hold back at all and really let Lisa have it.

Example 2:

Taylor: Why does Jack always make snide remarks about your clothes?
Sarah: I don’t know, but I’m getting tired of his serious shade. It’s like he can’t miss an opportunity to criticize my style.
