A “screed” is an informal internet slang term that refers to a long, excessive, and often rambling piece of writing. It is used to describe lengthy online posts or text that tends to be repetitive, rant-like, or filled with unnecessary and irrelevant details.

Examples:

1. John’s comment on the forum turned into a never-ending screed about his favorite TV show, including every single episode’s plot details and even unrelated trivia.

2. Mary’s social media post started as a simple review of a restaurant but soon turned into a screed, sharing her frustrations about the service, the ambiance, and even the color of the walls.
