Red Tape is a term used in internet slang to describe excessive bureaucracy or unnecessary procedures that hinder progress or efficiency. It refers to the complex and time-consuming processes one may encounter while dealing with rules, regulations, or procedures that seem pointless or unnecessarily convoluted.

Examples:

1. I’ve been trying to start my own small business, but the amount of red tape involved is overwhelming. I have to fill out numerous forms, provide countless documents, and wait for weeks just to get a simple license.

2. I wanted to join a new online platform, but the registration process was filled with red tape. I had to verify my email, answer security questions, wait for approval, and go through several steps before I could actually start using the platform.
