Put Your Foot In It: To unintentionally say or do something that causes trouble or offends someone.

Examples:

1. Sarah really put her foot in it when she accidentally revealed to Mark that he wasn’t invited to the surprise party.

2. Tom put his foot in it during the meeting when he made an inappropriate joke that offended some of his colleagues.
