Put You Up To It: This term is used to describe when someone convinces or manipulates another person into doing something, often something mischievous or unexpected, by suggesting or encouraging it.

Two practical examples:
1. Alex: “Hey Sarah, have you seen the new prank video online? I dare you to pull off a similar prank on our teacher tomorrow!”
Sarah: “Hmm, I’m not sure if I should do that…”
Alex: “Come on, it’ll be hilarious! Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you were the one who put the idea in my head. Just think about it.”

In this example, Alex is trying to put Sarah up to pulling a prank on their teacher by suggesting the idea and encouraging her to do it. He manipulates her into considering it, even though she initially hesitates.

2. Lisa: “I feel really guilty about going to the party without inviting Anna. I don’t know what to do.”
Mike: “You can always pretend like you didn’t know about it. It’s not your fault if she wasn’t included, right?”
Lisa: “I guess, but that seems unfair… It’s kind of sneaky.”
Mike: “Well, it’s your choice. Just saying, I bet she would have fun if she came…”

In this example, Mike is trying to put Lisa up to pretending she didn’t know about the party to avoid feeling guilty. He suggests a way for her to circumvent the responsibility, even though Lisa finds it morally questionable.
