Put through is internet slang used to describe a situation where someone is being deceived or tricked into believing something false or misleading. It involves manipulating someone’s emotions or mindset by presenting information that may not be entirely true.

Examples:

1. Person A: Did you see the news about that new game coming out? It’s supposed to be amazing!
Person B: Yeah, I heard about it too and pre-ordered it. Can’t wait to play!
Person A: Haha, got you! There’s actually no new game, I made it up.
Person B: Oh man, you really put me through with that fake news.

2. Person X: I just found out that our favorite band is coming to town next week!
Person Y: Are you serious? That’s incredible! We have to get tickets!
Person X: Sorry, I was just putting you through. They’re not really coming.
Person Y: Aw, you got my hopes up. That’s not cool!

In both examples, the term “put through” is used when someone deceives or tricks another person by making false claims or sharing made-up information. It creates a sense of excitement or anticipation in the listener, only to later reveal that it was all a lie or fabrication.
