The internet slang term “Pump The Brakes” means to tell someone to slow down or take a step back from what they are doing or saying. It is used when someone is being overly enthusiastic, impulsive, or aggressive in their actions or words.

Examples:

1. Alex: “I just started my new job, and I already know I’m going to be the CEO in six months!”
Brian: “Whoa, pump the brakes there, Alex. It’s great to be confident, but let’s focus on doing a good job first.”

2. Sarah: “OMG, I just met this guy online, and he’s the love of my life! We’re getting married next month!”
Jessica: “Hold up, Sarah. It’s essential to take your time and get to know someone before making such big decisions. Pump the brakes and see how things develop first.”
