Oujodere is an internet slang term used to describe a person who acts innocent and helpless to gain attention or manipulate others in online communities. They pretend to be vulnerable and often seek sympathy from others by playing the victim. Oujodere individuals may use their supposed weakness to manipulate situations to their advantage or to obtain special treatment from others.
Examples:
1. A user named GamerGirl99 joins an online gaming community and immediately starts complaining about being new and not knowing how to play. She asks for help from other players and constantly seeks attention by acting like she’s struggling to grasp even the simplest concepts of the game. In reality, she is an experienced player looking for free in-game items and assistance from others. GamerGirl99 is exhibiting Oujodere behavior.
2. In a social media support group for people dealing with anxiety, a user named SadSoul frequently posts about their overwhelming struggles, claiming they cannot handle everyday situations due to their anxiety. They often exaggerate their symptoms and expect others in the group to provide constant emotional support. However, it becomes evident that SadSoul uses this behavior to manipulate others and create a dependency on their sympathy. SadSoul’s actions are characteristic of Oujodere tendencies.
