The term “Old King Clancy” is internet slang used to refer to someone who often interrupts or butts into a conversation or situation unnecessarily. This person may have a habit of inserting themselves into discussions or events even when it is not appropriate or welcomed.

Example 1:
In a group chat:

User1: Hey guys, do you want to go watch a movie tonight?
User2: Sounds good, I heard that new action movie is pretty awesome.
User3: Oh, by the way, did I tell you about the concert I went to last week?
User4: Dude, don’t be such an Old King Clancy. We’re discussing plans for tonight.

Example 2:
During a work meeting:

Co-worker 1: Our team has been working really hard on this project, and I think we have some great ideas.
Old King Clancy: Oh, speaking of projects, let me tell you about one I did back in 2005.
Co-worker 2: Can you please stop being an Old King Clancy and let us focus on the current discussion?
