The internet slang termNo Ticky, No Washyis used to express that without certain conditions being met, there will be no action or outcome. It implies that if a requirement is not fulfilled, then the corresponding result will not occur.

Here are two practical examples that illustrate the use of this term:

Example 1:

Friend 1: Hey, can you lend me some money to buy this game?
Friend 2: Sure, but no ticky, no washy. You need to return the money by next week.

In this example, Friend 2 is agreeing to lend money to Friend 1 on the condition that it will be returned by a specific time. By using the phrase “no ticky, no washy,” Friend 2 is emphasizing that without the agreed-upon condition of repayment, the loan will not happen.

Example 2:

Parent: You can go to the party tonight, but no ticky, no washy. You must finish your homework first.
Teenager: Alright, Ill make sure to complete my homework before going.

In this instance, the parent allows their teenager to attend a party but with a condition. By saying “no ticky, no washy,” the parent is making it clear that unless the homework is finished, the teenager will not be permitted to go to the party.
