Nip something in the bud: To take action to stop or prevent a problem or issue from growing or becoming worse at an early stage.

Example 1:
– Mary noticed her friend acting strangely and suspected that he was struggling with depression. Worried about his well-being, she decided to nip it in the bud by gently talking to him about her concerns and encouraging him to seek professional help.

Example 2:
– Sarah noticed that her co-worker was spreading false rumors about her to other colleagues. Concerned about the impact it could have on her reputation, she immediately approached her co-worker to address the issue and nip it in the bud before it escalated further.

By nipping something in the bud, individuals take proactive measures to prevent problems or conflicts from escalating and causing greater harm.
