Lurk is internet slang for when a person observes or reads online discussions or content without actively participating or engaging with others. It typically refers to someone who silently and anonymously follows conversations or forums without contributing any comments, posts, or interactions.

Examples:

1. Sarah enjoys spending her free time lurking on various subreddit threads about fashion trends. She finds it interesting to read what others have to say and learn about different styling tips, but she doesn’t feel the need to actively participate in the discussions.

2. Mark usually lurks in online gaming forums to gather information about new updates and strategies for his favorite game. He prefers to absorb knowledge from experienced players without revealing his own identity or joining the conversations.
