LTR is an internet slang term that stands for “Long-Term Relationship.” It refers to a romantic or committed relationship that lasts for a significant amount of time. In online conversations, LTR is commonly used to discuss the duration or commitment level of a relationship. Here are two practical examples illustrating the use of LTR:

Example 1:

  • Person A: So, how’s your new partner?
  • Person B: They’re amazing! We’ve been together for almost a year now and it feels like we’re in it for the long haul. Hoping for an LTR.
  • Person A: That’s wonderful! Wishing you both a happy and successful LTR!

Example 2:

  • Person A: I’ve been dating this person for a while, and I’m not sure what they’re looking for.
  • Person B: Have you asked them about their intentions or if they’re interested in an LTR?
  • Person A: Not yet, but I think it’s time to have that conversation and see where we both stand.
