Let’s go Dutch” is a slang term used to suggest splitting the cost of a meal or activity equally among a group of people. It originates from the practice of Dutch people splitting the bill when dining out. When someone says “Let’s go Dutch,” they mean that each person will pay for their own portion, rather than one person paying for the whole group.

Examples:
Friend 1: Hey, let’s go grab dinner tonight.
Friend 2: Sounds good! Let’s go Dutch this time, Im trying to save some money.

– Person 1: I really want to go see the new movie tomorrow.
Person 2: Me too! Let’s ask everyone else if they’re interested and suggest going Dutch, so no one feels burdened with the cost.
