He/theyis an internet slang term that is used to refer to someone whose gender is unknown or unspecified. It is often used when discussing a person or a character whose gender is not explicitly mentioned or is deliberately kept ambiguous.

Examples:
1. In an online game, a player asks, “Is that character a guy or a girl?” Another player replies, “Im not sure, they could be he/they.”

This example shows how “he/they” is used to refer to a character whose gender is unclear or could be either male or non-binary/genderqueer.

2. On a social media platform, someone posts a picture of their friend with a caption that reads, “Hanging out with my best friend, he/they always makes me laugh.”

Here, “he/they” is used to describe the person in the picture, acknowledging that their gender might be either male or non-binary/genderqueer.
