Going cold is a slang term that refers to suddenly cutting off communication or ending a relationship without any explanation or warning. It typically implies the abrupt termination of contact and is often associated with a lack of closure or unresolved issues.

This slang term is commonly used to describe situations where someone completely stops responding to messages, calls, or any other form of communication without giving any explanation or indication as to why they suddenly cut off contact. Going cold can leave the other person feeling confused, hurt, or rejected, as it may be difficult to understand why the person suddenly stopped communicating.

Example 1: “I thought we were getting along great, but then he went cold and stopped replying to my messages.”

Example 2: “She went cold after our third date, and I never heard from her again. It’s frustrating not knowing what went wrong.”
