Gentrified means when a neighborhood or area undergoes significant changes that make it more upscale, attracting wealthier residents, businesses, and trendy establishments. It often refers to the process of urban renewal or revitalization that displaces lower-income individuals and alters the character of the community.

Examples:
1. The once diverse and affordable downtown area has been gentrified over the past decade, with fancy restaurants, high-end boutiques, and luxury apartments replacing the local shops and affordable housing options.
2. The neighborhood used to be known for its vibrant street art and bohemian vibe, but now it has been gentrified, and the walls that were once filled with colorful graffiti have been replaced with expensive coffee shops and upscale condominiums.
