Fletching is an internet slang term that refers to a specific act of deceiving or tricking someone online. This term is commonly used when someone manipulates or misleads others by presenting false information or pretending to be someone else. It usually involves deliberately leading someone into believing something that is not true.

Examples:

1. Person A: Did you hear about that new game coming out?
Person B: Yes! I actually got early access to it.
Person A: Wow, that’s amazing! Can you tell me more about it?
Person B: Sorry, I was just fletching. There’s no game, I was just messing with you.

2. Forum post: “Hey everyone, I’m a professional chef and I’m here to share my secret recipe for the best chocolate cake ever! Just follow these steps…”
Comment 1: Thanks for sharing! I’m definitely going to try this recipe.
Comment 2: Be cautious, this user has been fletching before. Their previous recipe turned out to be a prank.

In the first example, Person B falsely claims to have early access to a new game, but later admits they were just fletching and there is no such game. They deliberately deceived Person A for amusement.

The second example illustrates a comment on a forum post where someone warns others about an individual who has a history of fletching. Here, the person is cautioning others to be careful and not fall for the false promises or tricks of the user sharing the recipe.

Synonyms:
