Fanum tax is a slang term used to describe the practice of fans spamming or flooding social media platforms or websites with posts about their favorite celebrities or fandoms.

Example 1:

After their favorite singer released a new album, fans started fanum taxing Twitter with tweets about how amazing the music was.

Example 2:

The fanum tax on Instagram was so overwhelming that the platform had to temporarily disable comments on the celebrity’s posts to prevent spam.
