It implies a brief interaction and then immediately moving on to another task or topic. People use this term to highlight a lack of investment or interest in the conversation.

Example 1:
Person A: Just wanted to drop and run to say your new hairstyle looks amazing! Keep slaying, girl! 💁‍♀️🔥
Person B: Aw, thank you so much! I appreciate the compliment! 😊💕
Person A does not respond further and moves on to other conversations or activities.

Example 2:
Person A: I wanted to drop and run to let you all know that I won’t be able to make it to tonights party. Something came up. Have fun without me!
Person B: Oh no, we’ll miss you! But thanks for giving us a heads up. Hopefully, we’ll catch up soon!
Person A does not engage any further or discuss the reason for not attending the party.
