The internet slang termdouble down” means to strongly support or confirm ones stance, often in an extreme or intensified manner. It can also refer to increasing one’s commitment or effort towards a particular belief, action, or statement.

Examples:

1. After his favorite team won the championship, John decided to double down on his support by buying all their merchandise and attending every game.

2. Despite the criticism, Emma decided to double down on her decision to pursue a career in art and enrolled in an advanced art course.
