Doorsock is an internet slang term used to describe the act of putting a sock on a door handle to signal privacy or the request for uninterrupted time. It originated from college dorm culture but gained popularity online as a humorous way to express the need for alone time or to discourage others from entering a room.

Examples:

1. Person A: “Hey, can I come over to your place? I need to talk about something.”
Person B: “Sorry, can’t right now. My doorsock is up. Maybe later?”

2. Friend A: “Why did you have a doorsock on yesterday? Were you studying?”
Friend B: “Nah, just needed some me-time. Sometimes I like to chill in my room without any distractions.”
