Copium is an internet slang term used to describe a state of denial or self-delusion that someone may have when trying to cope with a disappointing or unfavorable situation. It implies that the person is relying on imaginary or unrealistic beliefs or explanations to make themselves feel better or justify their position.

Examples:

1. After their favorite sports team suffered a devastating loss in the finals, a fan may say: “No worries, next year we’ll definitely win! They just had an off day, copium is all we need.”

2. When a highly awaited video game release turns out to be poorly received by players, a fan might defend it by saying: “All the negative reviews are just from haters who don’t understand real gaming. Im confident the developers will fix all the issues soon, copium.”

Copium is often used in online discussions, comment sections, or social media to humorously point out someone’s refusal to accept reality or their overoptimistic attitude.
