Cardedis slang that refers to being asked for identification to prove ones age, typically when trying to buy alcohol or enter a venue with age restrictions. It can also be used more broadly to describe being asked to show identification in any situation.

Getting “carded” means being asked to show your ID to prove your age or identity, often done by a bartender, bouncer, or cashier. This term is commonly used in English-speaking countries with legal age restrictions on alcohol and other activities. It can also be used humorously or sarcastically when someone assumes you are younger than you actually are.

Example 1: “I couldn’t believe it when I got carded at the liquor store. I’m clearly old enough!”
Example 2: “I got carded when trying to enter the club because the bouncer thought I looked too young. It was annoying, but I understand they have to be cautious.”
