Captain Obvious: Someone who states the obvious or points out something that is already clear to everyone.
Examples:
It's raining outside and someone says, "Hey, did you know it's raining?" That person is being a real Captain Obvious.
During a football game, when the commentator says, "The team needs to score a touchdown to win the game," it's a bit of a Captain Obvious statement.
