BFFN is an internet slang term that stands for “Best Friend for Now.” It is used to describe someone who is considered a best friend at the present moment but might not maintain that close bond in the future. Here are two examples of how this term is used:

Example 1:

  • Person A: Hey, have you seen Jenny lately?
  • Person B: Not really, we used to be inseparable, but now she’s hanging out more with Lisa.
  • Person A: Ah, so Jenny is your BFFN now?
  • Person B: Yeah, it seems so.

Example 2:

  • Person A: How’s everything with you and Mike?
  • Person B: We were best friends during high school, but now we barely talk. He’s become my BFFN.
  • Person A: That happens, people drift apart sometimes.
