Bawk is a slang term that refers to the sound of a chickens cluck.

In a more elaborate sense, this slang term is used in online gaming to describe the action of hiding or running away from a fight or confrontation. Similar to how a chicken might cluck and scurry away when scared, “bawking” in gaming means avoiding a battle or backing out of a challenging situation.

Player 1: “Hey, why did you bawk when that enemy team approached?”
Player 2: “They outnumbered us, so I thought it was better to retreat and regroup.”

Example 2:
Streamer: “I can’t believe I just bawked and left my team hanging in that crucial moment!”
Chat: “It’s okay, sometimes it’s better to survive and play smart rather than go down and lose.”
