Anxiety refers to a state of uneasiness, fear or worry about something uncertain or impending. It is often associated with feelings of restlessness, tension, and an increased heart rate. The term “anxiety” is commonly used to describe the mental and physical sensations experienced when feeling uneasy or apprehensive.

Example 1: “I have such bad anxiety before exams that I can’t sleep the night before.”

Example 2: “The thought of public speaking fills me with anxiety, causing me to avoid any situation that requires addressing a large crowd.”
