Aloof

Aloof is a slang term used to describe someone who is distant, uninterested, or emotionally detached from others. They may appear standoffish or indifferent in their interactions and keep a certain level of detachment. For example, “John is always so aloof at parties, standing in the corner and not engaging with anyone.” Another example would be, “I tried to approach my new coworker, but she remained aloof and didn’t show much interest in getting to know anyone.”
