The slang term “21” refers to being drunk or intoxicated. It is often used to describe someone who has consumed a significant amount of alcohol and is visibly impaired.

This slang term originated from the classic card game of blackjack, where 21 is the highest possible hand. When someone is “21,” it implies they have reached the maximum level of intoxication, similar to achieving the highest possible score in the game.

Example 1: “After three rounds of shots, he was completely 21 and could barely walk straight.”
Example 2: “I don’t remember anything from last night’s party—I was 21 within the first hour.”
