A “shipper” is someone who supports and desires a romantic relationship between two fictional characters or real-life individuals. They hope for these individuals to be in a relationship and often show their support through fanfiction, fan art, or discussions about their favorite pairings.
Examples:
1. Sarah is a big shipper of the characters Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. She loves reading and writing fanfiction where they end up together.
2. James passionately ships two actors, Natalie and David, from his favorite TV show. He often joins online forums to discuss their chemistry and hopes they will become a real-life couple.
