Scenester” refers to a person who closely follows and participates in a particular social scene or subculture. They often aim to be trendy and hip, seeking to stand out by conforming to the styles, fashion, and behaviors associated with the scene they belong to.

Below are two examples illustrating the use of the term:

Example 1: Sarah loves going to indie music shows, dressing in vintage clothes, and constantly keeping up with the latest alternative bands. She spends most of her free time at local concerts and often shares pictures on social media from different gigs she attends. Sarah definitely fits the definition of a scenester.

Example 2: James, a self-proclaimed scenester, is always the first to adopt the latest fashion trends. He frequently updates his wardrobe to match the style of the underground streetwear scene. James attends all the hippest events in town and carries himself with a nonchalant air of coolness that is characteristic of scenesters.
