Ooc, which stands for “Out of character,” is an internet slang term used to indicate that a person is speaking or acting in a way that is not consistent with their usual or fictional persona online. It is commonly used in online role-playing communities or on social media platforms where users have created fictional characters.

Examples:

1. In an online role-playing game:
Player 1: *enters a fantasy tavern* Hey, anyone up for a quest?
– Player 2: Ooc: Sorry, I can’t join right now. I have to log out soon.

2. On a fanfiction forum:
User 1: Just published a new chapter of my story! Check it out!
– User 2: Ooc: Congratulations! I loved how you developed the characters in this chapter.
