The internet slang term “Obashata” refers to the act of ignoring or dismissing someone’s opinion or statement because it is based on outdated or incorrect information.

Examples:

1. Person A: “I read that eating a whole pizza every day is actually healthy.”
Person B: “Obashata! That information is completely false and not based on any scientific evidence.”

2. Online forum post: “Why are people still using flip phones? Smartphones are so overrated and unnecessary.”
Reply 1: “Obashata! Flip phones may have their advantages, but they lack the features and capabilities of smartphones in today’s fast-paced digital world.”

Use:

Person A: “I heard that drinking bleach can cure any illness.”
Person B: “Obashata! That’s a dangerous misconception; consuming bleach is highly toxic and harmful to your health.”

Online post: “Who needs to pay for streaming services when you can just illegally download all the movies and music you want?”
Reply: “Obashata! Piracy not only violates copyright laws, but it also deprives artists, musicians, and filmmakers of the income they deserve for their work.”
