Mephobia is a term used in internet slang. It refers to the fear or aversion towards receiving text messages. People with mephobia tend to avoid or dislike communication through SMS or messaging apps. Here are two practical examples illustrating the use of this term:

Person A: Hey, do you want to chat on WhatsApp?
Person B: No, sorry. I have mephobia, so I prefer not to use messaging apps.

Person X: I thought about texting you earlier, but I remembered you have mephobia.
Person Y: Yeah, it’s true. I find it overwhelming to receive lots of text messages, so I try to avoid them.

Note: The term “mephobia” is not recognized as an official phobia by medical or psychological experts.
