Hairpin Trigger is a term used in internet slang to describe someone who is easily and quickly angered or triggered by the smallest things. They react strongly and with little to no provocation, often overreacting to minor issues or comments. The term is derived from the concept of a hairpin trigger, which refers to a sensitive mechanism that requires very little pressure to activate.

Examples:

– Carol is such a hairpin trigger. I simply mentioned a different opinion, and she immediately started yelling at me and insulting me.

– I accidentally bumped into Alex, and he went into a hairpin trigger mode, shouting at me and even threatening physical violence. It was such an intense reaction for such a small incident.
